The Acer palmatum ‘Grandma Ghost’ is an extraordinary reticulated Japanese Maple from the renowned Ghost Series, developed by Talon Buchholz of Buchholz Nursery in Oregon. Highly prized by collectors, this distinctive cultivar is celebrated for its intricate veining, luminous foliage, and ability to brighten even the more shaded areas of the garden.

In early spring, ‘Grandma Ghost’ emerges with beautiful creamy-white to pale green foliage dramatically traced with deep green reticulated veins. Subtle touches of pink and soft blush tones may appear through the centre and edges of the leaves, adding another layer of colour to its already intricate appearance.

As the season progresses, the creamy tones gradually soften and the foliage becomes greener, while its characteristic network of darker veins remains visible. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but well-drained, especially during warm weather. Avoid allowing the root zone to dry out completely, while ensuring the tree is never left in waterlogged soil.

Soil Type: Prefers fertile, slightly acidic, well-draining soil enriched with organic matter. Good drainage and a cool root zone will encourage healthy, steady growth.
