Care Information:

Climate Adaptability: 'Mikawa Yatsubusa' thrives in South Africa's mild to moderate climates. It can tolerate both heat and cold to some extent, but extra care may be necessary during extreme weather conditions.

Sun Exposure: Plant your 'Mikawa Yatsubusa' Japanese Maple in a partially shaded area to protect it from intense sunlight. This will help preserve the brilliance of its foliage and prevent leaf scorching.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but avoid overwatering. During hot and dry periods, increase watering frequency to prevent drought stress and maintain the tree's health.

Soil Type: Choose well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH level for planting 'Mikawa Yatsubusa.' If your area has clayey or heavy soil, consider amending it with organic matter to improve drainage.

Pruning: 'Mikawa Yatsubusa' requires minimal pruning. During late winter or early spring, remove any dead or damaged branches to promote healthy growth and maintain its graceful form.

Fertilisation: Apply a balanced, slow-release fertiliser specifically formulated for Japanese Maples in early spring.  Follow the package instructions for proper application.

Finally got one of the most sort out Japanese maples, this one is definitely a must for any collector. It's one of the toughest maples u can find out there when it comes to heat tolerance. Just curious to see how it handles south Africa sun. Thanks to Ruan and his exceptional service. If your worried about packaging and his courier service, they're the best . Never had a single damaged plant so far, and I've ordered lots via courier.
